Do you hire remotely?

Right now, we’re building the team in person. We ask that Bandits are able to be in the office at least three days a week. We’ve found that being together makes a real difference, conversations are easier, ideas evolve faster, and the work tends to get sharper in ways you can’t quite replicate remotely.

Why are you called Bandit Island?

There’s an old story about a map that never stayed the same. If you followed it long enough, it would eventually lead you to a place that didn’t show up anywhere else, an island full of people building strange things, rewriting rules, and ignoring most of them…Bah! We could keep going…But the truth is, it’s a mix of half-remembered ideas, a few bad decisions, and a name that refused to go away.

At some point, it just… fit.

Who are the founders of Bandit Island?

Stephen Jarrett is an experienced game executive on +20 games with a +$2B gross revenue. He’s led Design and Product on popular IP franchises such as Crash Bandicoot, SpongeBob, Harry Potter, Finding Nemo, Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds, High School Musical, Disney Princess  and many more Nickelodeon/Disney/Pixar IPs.  Before being CEO at Bandit Island Games  he was VP of Creative at KING.

Robert Woodburn is COO with 20 years of management experience across games, media and tech. He co-led the design craft at King as Director of Design Operations and was previously recruitment manager for King Stockholm, Berlin and Bucharest.
